How to study Physics subject for NEET examination?

NEET examination

National Eligibility Entrance Test or NEET examination, formerly called All India Pre-medical Test, is the qualifying test for MBBS and BDS studies in Indian medical and dental colleges respectively. This test is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). This examination offers 90,000 seats in MBBS and BDS programs in India. This test is conducted every year in May.

NEET examination includes topics like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. This is based almost on the concepts of the 11th and 12th class syllabus. In this article, you will be given complete information about studying Physics and acing the subject.

Make a note of these important questions:-

One of the important things every NEET aspirant should keep in mind is, prioritizing. Every student should prioritize the concepts according to the marks’ weightage and levels of difficulty. Every student must feel comfortable learning all the chapters and subchapters according to the exam needs. It is notable that some concepts are very easily understandable, whereas some concepts would be complex to cover. Every time, aspirants may feel some of the topics in Physics are very intricate and require some more time. So, the aspirant may think, it can be covered later, and the time goes by. Hence, they abruptly skip those complex topics altogether. It is not at all a wise choice. Instead, NEET aspirants can cover those complex concepts as early as possible. This not only acts as a booster dose but also helps them revise the topic whenever needed.

Now let’s look at the topics to cover based on the weightage of the marks. It is given in three types. Hence students are advised to cover the difficulty part, later on covering the medium and easy part.

High Difficulty level topics to cover:-

  • Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating current
  • Ray optics
  • Rotational motion
  • Laws of thermodynamics
  • Magnetic effects of current
  • Current electricity
  • Semiconductors and communication system
  • Classical magnetism and magnetic properties of matter

The medium Difficulty level of topics:-

  • Motion in one dimension
  • Newton’s laws of motion.
  • Circular motion
  • Heat transfer
  • Properties of matter & fluid mechanics
  • Waves and sounds
  • Atomic structure in modern physics
  • Gravitation
  • Wave optics

Easy topics to cover:-

  • Units and dimensions
  • Work, energy, power
  • Thermal properties of matter, kinetic theory of gases, and calorimetry
  • Photo-electric effect & electromagnetic waves
  • Nuclear physics and radioactivity
  • Center of mass, momentum conservation (collision)
  • Experimental physics
  • Oscillations
  • The motion of 2 dimensions and projectile motion
  • Electrostatics

After finishing these topics every candidate needs to work out with sample question papers.

Why are solving papers very essential?

Every aspirant should solve sample papers for various reasons. Several of them are,

  • Solving papers helps the student to build motivation and get ready to ace the exam.
  • This boosts motivation and helps the students to be confident about their concepts.
  • Every candidate understands and gets well-versed in time management as when they work on sample papers, they look for answers and understand as well as enhance their knowledge. Every student needs to solve NEET Physics Important Questions with SolutionsWhen regularly solving papers with questions, they cut down their time for thinking and straight away write the answers. Hence, they complete the exam on time.
  • It minimizes the aspirant’s fear and stress as they are confident and ready to solve any type of question for the exam. This is because; they have enough practice with the sample papers.

Some tips to follow while studying Physics for NEET:-

How can you score 160 in this subject?

NEET in Physics section has 45 questions. Each question carries four marks. Hence, the strategy to follow is for scoring 160, you must get at least 40 questions to be right. This section can be a challenging one, but with continuous practice and dedication, you can crack the hard-level questions also. For that, you should

  • Gain clarity with the concepts
  • Should prepare a list of formulas and definitions and be fingertips with it.
  • Finding the best sources in the market and following them religiously.
  • Solve as many previous year’s questions papers as you can. Practice is the key.
  • Improvise your levels of speed and accuracy. Practice at least 150 – 200 questions every day.
