Geiger Universe To Release Redcoat and Junkyard Joe

Redcoat and Junkyard Joe

In today’s increasingly complicated world, readers facing the threat of global nuclear war turn to heroic characters who not only survive atomic devastation but also become heroes protecting those they love.

Image Comic’s Geiger, penned by Geoff Johns, tells about a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2030. The Unknown War has struck leaving the world ravaged by an atomic blast. Survivors now live underground save for family man Tariq Geiger who was exposed to sufficient radiation to give him superhuman powers. From the Geiger series, new tales are now being launched about other unlikely heroes with relatable flaws and amazing powers.

New Heroes in the Geiger Universe

Geiger is just one of many who are part of The Unnamed, men and women who have been fighting to protect the human race for centuries. Their lives are a mystery and their identities a secret, but they all fight to stop the Great Evil. Two of those Unnamed, The Redcoat and Junkyard Joe, will now have their own series.

The Redcoat

Although he worked as a mercenary and British assassin during the American Revolutionary War, The Redcoat became immortal and later fought in the Unknown War. Having found Geiger’s two-headed dog named Barney, The Redcoat will now have other tales to be revealed in the pages of his upcoming series.

Junkyard Joe

Morris “Muddy” Davis is a soldier and aspiring cartoonist who encounters a mechanical soldier during the Vietnam War. His superiors convinced Davis that the mechanical soldier wasn’t real, but Davis later writes about it in a comic strip entitled Junkyard Joe. It’s a political parody and just as popular in the Geiger Universe as the Garfield Comic Strips.

The main character in the Junkyard Joe strip is a robotic soldier who is perfect in every way. Through the strip, Davis points out how men and women in the military are expected to act like soldiers and mindlessly obey their superiors. Image Comic’s Junkyard Joe tells the story of tragedy and healing and how generations can learn from one another.

Comic Series Hits

All the series in the Geiger Universe are beautifully drawn with realistic dialogues and a gripping storyline. Geiger was a huge hit that sold out and went into a second printing before it even hit the shelves. The Redcoat and Junkyard Joe are likely to be just as popular when they’re released. If you’re looking for a gritty futuristic superhero story, the Geiger Universe is bound to satisfy.
